Looks like new growth to me
The way the new growth is reaching i think it may be searching for higher light. Doesnt necessarily mean its in a bad spot though
ZZ plants like low light. New growth is normally not yellow in color. It likes a crowded pot and little water.
It needs more light.
Needs much better lighting and they new stems are very light.

More light needed!
My job in retirement was working at a florist (3) and thats when the xx plant was new in shops. It surprised me when a xx plant was delivered to someone they didn’t all like them and some asked to return for something else. Now I see much larger in building lobbies and offices, they are much fuller and beautiful. Of course they have services in most cases to keep them flourishing.
