I’m sure you realize this is a palm tree and not a fern. The only way to propagate a palm tree is to take the trunk with a room system attached. This way you have three trunks. You should take them out of the pot and gently tease the roots apart without tearing them off. Then repot the plants that you have. You cannot cut part of a palm to propagate it.
This method will disturb the plant which you are taking and the plant you are leaving behind. It’s usually best just to leave Palms alone, but this is the only way to separate it.
