The more of the think round bit at the bottom of the growth as possible the better – it’ll have more cells suited for root growth than those higher up on the plant.

Looks like a little nub root as well. I put a curve cut in white to recommend. Personally, I prefer to take a leaf and propagate multiple specimens to see if it’ll produce more.
