It’s called the York and Lancaster (war of roses). My neighbor has one and I’ve been hunting for this dahlia since.

Magnificent.
On a side note I went to Heligan in August where they were hosting a Dahlia flower show/exhibition. I honestly had no idea of the variety and loveliness of the genus.

Dahlias always amaze me with their geometry, but this one looks like it was designed by nature’s perfectionist. I’d be out there checking on it every morning like it’s a celebrity.

This grew in our garden. The rest of the flowers on the plant were fully red.
