      they only bloom for a single day, so I ran outside half-asleep just to catch them

    6. These are beautiful to see outside blooming. I have one of these that blooms in my dome greenhouse.

      San Pedro you say. Those are truly magical. The blooms remind me of the Queen of the Night cactus. I kinda think cacti have the most beautiful flowers. Maybe they have to because they bloom for such a short time.

      We had prickly pear cactus around out house and [their flowers](https://www.flawildflowers.org/wp-content/uploads/2016/05/opuntiahumifusa-e1602526736592.jpg) are gorgeous bright yellow with a kind of waxy translucence; really captivating.
