Not sure if this is allowed, I am not affiliated with this brand in and way, but I have seen so many posts asking for help with fungus gnats that I really wanted to share my discovery.

Maybe I watch too much true crime but naming one of your products BTK is… a choice 😭😭

Different strain of the same bacteria. Maybe you just got lucky as it wouldn’t target the larvae of gnats🧐

  4. And much easier than soaking mosquito bits to get the same treatment.

You want BTI for gnats, BTK is for caterpillars.

If you’re in the states, look for a concentrated BTI product if you want something faster acting than mosquito dunks.

How long after treating did you notice the difference? The gnats have life cycle.

BTK produces toxins that affect the gut cells of lepidoptera (caterpillar) larvae and has no affect on diptera (fly) larvae.

BTI is the subspecies you want for gnats. Check out organicbti on the web. Mosquito bits are like 3% bti, gnatrol wdg is like 30%.

Water from the base of the pot and you’ll never see gnats again

Bti and btk are 2 separate but similar bacterium, unfortunately they are not interchangeable and this will not affect fungus that larvae. Any reduction you see because of using this product is coincidence or actually the effect of some other thing you did to quell the population.

  10. That doesn’t make sense. It takes around two weeks to a month for fungus gnats to be eliminated with BT.

    Thanks for posting this!
Have you ever used mosquito dunks tea? I’m only wondering if you found this BTK to be more effective in comparison. I’m sure it’s far more convenient at least, but I have dunks for if i need them, so I’d rather not purchase another product if it’s unnecessary.
