How did you grow the furry grey flower?
i love your garden, it’s a wonderful place for drinking your morning cup of tea or reading
Wow! I really want to do this. Mine is already about 25% clover and I’ve been trying to encourage it to spread. Did you use seed? And it only took a few weeks?
I agree this looks nice, how are you going to keep on top of weeds? I don’t know a great deal about clover, can you mow it?
That’s nice
What’s it like in winter?
Found any 4-leafed yet?
That’s lovely! I am planning to sow one soon myself. This is encouraging.
Looks fantastic! Did you use any particular type of clover? I may be getting inspired 👉👈
I love it! It’s going to be so pretty and attract so many bees in the spring.
Well done. Looks great.
That looks incredible, I’m envious.
Very handsome.
This is brilliant and exactly what I’m aiming to do! Thanks for the inspiration – any tips or things you’d do differently?
I love it! I also love how outraged the cat looks
Beautiful
Looks so verdant and lush, I’ve put some clover seeds down on my lawn because it looks a right state after the dry summer we’ve had, maybe I have them yellow jackets as well I’m not sure but If it turns out as half as good as yours I’ll be so happy.
Looks really good. A great alternative to grass if you don’t have kids.
Wow, you’ve done a beautiful job clothing your fencing and walls with climbers.
Gorgeous layers of texture.
Very nice. Did this myself in the spring. We had ten weeks with no rain and the leftover grass died badly but the clover was green throughout. I mow it occasionally and it doesn’t seem to have any ill effect.
UK gardening when grass lawn with 12 different species: “Ew! Disgusting monoculture, you must really hate nature 🤢”
UK gardening when actual monoculture: 😍😍😍
I’ve just sown a clover lawn about two weeks ago. They’ve sprouted -looking like cress from school days. Can’t wait for it to grow. Yours looks great after six weeks.
There’s definitely a 4 leaf clover in there somewhere
Ive no gardening experience what is the benefit of this over grass? I’ve just moved recently and got a garden its 80% dandelions ive managed to kill off the nettles and most of the dock leaves but this looks nice and different.
Love how you decorated it with a cat to make it look even better.
This is so attractive, a great idea.
Is that grey fluffy bit a patch of mould?
It would look pretty with some low-growing wild flowers in it too. I was thinking perhaps speedwell, scarlet pimpernel and some birdsfoot trefoil.
It’s beautiful and looks so much better than grass!
FYI I tried this in London, it also looked spectacular in the early months and then… disaster strikes in series:
– I had no idea pigeons liked to snack on clovers, they ravaged the lawn i had 4 or 6 pigeons at the same time in my garden eating like a buffet (hopefully your cat chases them away)
– pigeons crapped everywhere sawing undigested weed seeds
– slugs also like to snack on them and I had to fight an invasion
– as the density of clover coverage lowered and more soil was accessible, squirrels started digging everywhere
The crimson coloured clovers looked spectacular but I had to let them grow tall to have them flower and then it created the perfect habitat for slugs under their humid shade
In the end I completed gave up and used that space for more planting.
Looks superb, well done!
Would you be able to share what seeds you used please? We triued some this year and it’s a partial success but they’re so tall and leggy. Sold as ‘micro Clover’ amusingly.
Is this the same thing as dichrondra? My dad put this in our lawn when I was a kid. Looked awesome but was a massive pain to take care of.
What a lovely garden.
Beautiful! Do you think you’ll get any pink clovers? Looks fantastic!
Lovely
awesome
Do you find you get surprise cat poo? We have cats that use our lawn a lot and I’m curious if this would help or hinder said cats pooping strategy
I literally thought there was a pond there and they were all water plants and wondered how the cat is just sitting on top until i looked properly lol nice looks comfy good place to sit in the summer.
This is my hope. I misread my seed the first attempt and sowed it with purple flower clover which is up to my knees. Slowly fixing strip by strip. Also treated ourselves to some camomile, mind your own business and creeping thyme. The camomile in particular spread like mad.
Bonus points for cat pics.
Love your clover lawn. Love your kitty.
We originally planted lawn, but most of it is too shady for the grass to grow evenly, and the sunny areas get scorched. It luckily started to self seed with miniature white clover, which has thrived and spread. I added more miniature white clover seed this spring, but it didn’t germinate; now realise I should have scarified first. Will let it spread by itself and take over more next year. Had tons of bees, butterflies and other pollinators on it this summer, was so lovely sitting in it.
