    1. This is a Monstera Deliciosa, by the way! A remarkably ugly one 🙂 I love her anyway

These are air roots and I just leave them. I only cut them off when they are going across the room and become a tripping hazard. 🙂

They are roots. They are aerial roots, made for finding support as the vine climbs.

Wait until they are long enough and gently redirect them into the soil. They will develop actual roots and help support the plant physically as well!

Or, some people prefer to cut them off (it won’t hurt the plant!). If at some point I am unable to redirect mine, they will be getting chopped! “Finger” roots creep me out. I don’t know why, they just do lol

You made me laugh out loud at “nodes noding so hard”. 🤭🤭🤭

If you want something to do with those roots, get your plant on a moss pole. What you have now is a coconut husk pole, which doesn’t give the roots anything to climb or grab nutrients from. There’s many many YouTube videos on how to make your own moss pole for cheap, and it’ll allow your plant to become much larger and healthier
