Turf always looks amazing when freshly laid. Because you have to leave it to establish it means the top growth is allowed to get too long. Or should I say too long for standard mowers to get high enough to not “scalp” the grass. Scalping is when you remove more than a third of the leaf blade at a time and not as it sounds actually scalping it back to dirt. When removing more than a third of the leaf blade at a time you induce stress in the plant which can cause it to discolour and weaken the plant making it more susceptible disease. You have done everything right by the sound of things given the season we’ve had and the tools you have. Continue to cut it and do it regularly. Don’t feel you need to stick to a schedule like once a week or once every 2 weeks cut it every 4 days if it needs it or 3 times in a week and then not for a week if it doesn’t need it. Hope that all makes sense. Also worth looking at putting some autumn/winter feed on there

More than likely lack of sunlight, one side of the garden is always going to get less sunlight as fenced off on 3 sides.
