    1. We used to have a cherry tree much bigger than this that was just a few inches from a garden wall. The wall didn’t have any issues and the driveway on the other side didn’t show any sign that the tree was there.

I wouldnt worry about it at all.

You might get annoyed in the future with the roots spreading across the lawn

Earlier comments are saying ‘no’ to any worries, but I’m not so sure. Cherries have a shallow root system that travel horizontally searching for moisture. They have been know to raise road pavements when used as street trees by the council.
I’d be keeping a close eye on that as time goes by.

Yes it looks like a scary one, maybe infested with sprites. They’ll come n bully your gnomes in’t middle of’t night

    5. Only if you are worried about your neighbour gifting you some delicious cherries.

Only if you try and climb it. The branches are unlikely to support your weight and you will end up in A&E.

I’ve not known cherry trees cause any issues other than provide tasty cherries?

    8. They should lop the top to stop it growing taller. That way the fruit will stay nearer the bottom. You should only be worried if the cherries are not edible.
