    1. I read that the oak hosts the greatest number of insects of all trees. I don’t know if that’s true but oaks are one of my favourite trees along with silver birch. I hope you get to plant these. They are lovely trees x

Yes, entirely likely that 2025 will be a Mast year, like 2020 was.

Collect some and start growing the next generation of oaks. There’s always some critter trying to steal acorns from pots though!!

It could be a mast year for the oaks, where they produce a huge number of acorns

My theory is two years of rain followed by one year of sun, has led to bumper crops of acorns awell as all wild berries. I’ve never seen so many fruits in the wild like this year.

Amazing It would be fun to see how many trees you could grow out of this.

We’ve had some bad weather in the south-east recently and the paths are covered in them 🙂

Hi, may I know how you collected all of those? We have a very big oak tree on our back garden and I struggle to collect all the acorns that fell on our lawn.. It’s hard to mow the lawn since I do not want to destroy my lawnmower 🙁

It’s been a bumper year for all tree fruit and nuts. Walnuts, hazel and Cobbs have been amazing and I’ve picked 10 kg of damsons off one tree, an apple tree that’s fallen over from the weight of the fruit, the biggest pears I’ve ever grown and the cherries were awesome.

Apparently, you can make coffee from acorns!
I have no idea what it tastes like, but I have seen videos of it.

2025 is a mast year, every few years they produce far more seeds than can be eaten to have more chance of reproduction
