Flowers are ephemeral – they sprout, bloom then shrivel up and die. You can cut it near the base when it’s dry (less chance of damaging the plant). If it’s happy, it will bloom again later.
Flowers do that, they don’t last forever.
Calla lilies die back over winter. First the flowers will die back, then the foliage, so you will be left with bulbs in the compost in the pot. Give them very little water in the winter. The bulbs will resprout in the spring, when you can given them water and feed, but they can be difficult to get to flower again. (OK, I’ve never managed it 😂). As a first (house) plant to be given, they’re not the easiest, so don’t stress if they don’t make it. Some calla lilies can be planted out and survive in the garden, but I don’t think these florist-type ones are winter hardy.
Looks like a perfectly normal Cala to me, overwatering tends to make the leaves yellow and floppy so no sign there. tbh, I find them pretty indestructible. They tend to flower spring early summer for a few weeks but indoors all rules are off and sometimes they will even throw up a random flower e.g. if they’ve been neglected and revived. Looks like it’s time for a re-pot, 2 inch bigger pot and well draining soil. A wee feed of tomato feed or similar will help also help. Best to snip off the spent flowers and any dead leaves at the base with sharp secs.
Looks like a very happy, healthy plant tbh. No flowers last forever…they all dry up and drop off eventually, it’s completely normal once the plants blooming period has finished
Calla Lillie’s lose odd leaves and grow new replacement ones throughout the growing season. When grown outside they then lose their foliage (leaves) completely in autumn and regrow new fresh foliage in the spring. This doesn’t always happen at all/to the same extent when they are grown inside but if you start to lose lots/all the leaves in autumn, don’t worry it’s normal for this plant 🙂
