I have one that I bought in spring. It’s quite young and has exact same thing. Don’t worry is my opinion. It didn’t flower this year either as I think it’s still young. About same size as yours
Looks like sun stress – I’d leave them be
Those aren’t browning, they’re new growth
Like the poster above says – new growth on magnolias of bronze coloured. Looks fine to me.
You might want to pull the mulch back from the trunk though to avoid issues.
It’s hard to tell, but the pot looks a bit small. If so, it will cause problems eventually. Or maybe you are on the point of planting it out? That will avoid a lot of bother.
