Plant green clovers, and other green manure- it has better drought resistance and will aerate your soil

Your grass looks like my grass. Install a rain cloud and it’ll get green again.

Water falling from the sky is free.

If you want it to be bright green then you’ll need fertiliser and probably herbicide too

    4. Looks like some thatch in there, rake it out, throw down some seeds, throw down some fertiliser (i like the weed and feed granules) and keep the soil moist.

I let clover and moss spread on mine so its stayed nice and green. Though I live up north so that could also be a reason. I only water in the evening if there isnt rain due that night

That’s how most grass is looking right now. You can relax. It will very likely green up fine when the rain comes back.

I’d just wait, might need to rake out some thatch once it starts recovering. Might benefit from a bit of feed.
Might just need nothing but the rain. But best to wait until you have a couple of inches of green recovery in some of it, before mucking about with it.

The bit on my lawn that I cut looks like yours. It always does this in drought and I ignore it and it recovers when the rain comes back. The bit I left knee high this year after no-mow-May turned into June and July, that’s still got some good green left. The bit in the back garden which has been taken over by clover is still short and green, it’s just not actually grass 😁

Look around, the only lush green lawns this year are fake.

Rain is what you need, and lots of it.

I wouldn’t even bother until the heat dies down unless you wanna water it twice a day

A can of green paint and a sprayer?

Seriously, wait for rain, then and new seed and fertiliser

Scarify, overseed, topdress, water, water, water, water and keep watering!
