    1. You’ve laid grass at literally the worst possible time. It was always going to struggle.

Nothing you can do but keep watering and if you ever need to do this again do it in spring or autumn.

You could try getting some old hose pipe or buying a cheap one. Poke some pin holes all the way along, snake it around the garden and just readjust periodically

Cap the end to build pressure within the hose

What a massive waste of water, just when half the country’s being threatened with hosepipe bans. Sorry, but where is the common sense?

Keep doing what you are doing. Give it a few seasons then chuck in some grass seeds to cover the bare bits.
Right now you’re just fighting it so let nature take its course then look to build it up.

Even under the perfect conditions you’ll never get 100% perfect from the off.

Hope you don’t get into a hose pipe ban and pray for when your water bill comes

it’s way too hot for turf laying. The edges will dry up and shrink and leave gaps in the lawn. You’ll need a sprinkler on all day in this heat.

    7. Laid it in a heatwave when a hosepipe ban is imminent (or in effect). Should’ve laid it in April or in September. The grass blades are going to be under stress.

      Good luck.

A more responsible or knowledgable landscaper would try to discourage someone from doing this job during summer months.

How do people not understand it’s a bad idea to lay turf in the middle of a heatwave in the middle of summer baffles me lol

Give it time, you’ve only just had it laid. Water it early morning or late…after 9pm. You don’t want to be watering it in peak heat. And try to water the lawn not your path…there is a water shortage
