Without a picture of the bugs noone can really help you. It could have been a pest, or it could have been a harmless bug.
You can do a few rounds 4× 1×a week insecticidal soap spray, but you have to keep it inside in another room for that, if left outside, things can come and go and you are doing nothing no matter how much you spray.
