That’s an Indigo Bunting! It’s related to Cardinals, very cool little birb!

    2. Omg! Is that indigo bunting???? Together with waxwing they are my dream birds (as in I dream that one day I’ll get to see them live!)

How did you get to hold one, OP? Window crash victim?

    3. So you’re a Disney Princess now, right? That’s how this works?

Was this before or after 7 short dudes with pickaxes found you wandering alone in the woods?

    5. WOW!! I’ve only seen them a few times in my flowers, and mostly only see them randomly flying around the neighborhood. I would die if one (or a golden finch) landed on my hand. What an amazing experience!

Your Disney Princess self needs to gtfo. Why don’t my birds love me like this 😭😭😭

    7. He needs water. At least it is too hot for him, you can tell by the open beak. Birds do that when it is too hot to try to cool down a little

    8. it’s always a good idea to have a bird rehabber’s information on hand. Head injuries especially can have lasting damage that isn’t immediately apparent, so unfortunately just because he can fly doesn’t mean he’s okay. Don’t feed or water birds that are injured; they are very finicky with care!

Indigo bunting! I saw one of these for the first time a few weeks ago after mowing the lawn. He ignored my bird feeder to eat bugs in the fresh cut grass. His mate was also nearby. It was so great getting such beautiful visitors. I haven’t seen them since, but I look after each mow. I’m glad yours was okay!

Beautiful blues! Thanks for sharing. I’d never seen or heard of that bird before.

I don’t have that Disney princess spirit, usually the ones who show up at home run away from me 😭

What a beautiful bird! Living out my Disney princess dreams over there. I just make friends with the feral cats in my neighborhood.
