Why would throwing it away be your next option if you can’t repurpose it? Donate it.

Don’t take that to the dump! Leave it on the curb or bring to goodwill

I’d sell it before I took to the dump. There are so many furniture flippers.

At the same time, if I were going to keep it – it would have to have a purpose and plants are the only purpose I would have for a curio cabinet.

    4. Obviously an incredible piece of furniture. Converting it to plants would degrade it quickly! But since you asked… Take out the shelves and attach welded-wire-mesh to the back 4”x4” grid works great. You can hang plants densely on the grid. Line the bottom with a waterproof tray. Install lights either along the top/front, or up the front vertical supports. You will need a fan for air circulation and vents to allow air transfer. It could be really awesome, for a while.

    5. That is gorgeous and it would be a total same to throw it away. Unfortunately I think the moisture of plants would destroy it so maybe try to sell it or give it to a charity shop.

personally i’d rig up a UV light in there and find some uranium glass to put on display

100w light at the top, remove the glass shelves and boom, got a beautiful 😍 plant display/grow area.

    8. I’d love to have that to expand my teacup collection. Donate or sell it please!

If you’re dumping it, I want it! LOL

Just needs lighting – make sure you allow enough ventilation to disperse the heat from the lights.

I’d put some LED grow lights in it and fill with plants.

I think even just painting it white to match your doors and cupboards would make a big difference, but you could do a fun color! You could also get mirror tiles and put those on the back wall, if you wanted to get fancy.

I’d put some led grow lights in it and some plants that like humidity- the cabinet will be more humid than the rest of your house.

It kinda looks like the glass is broken- you could probably glue it back into the door, or if you wanted to remove it you totally could have it be open faced so vines can grow out.

Haul it to the local charity place that takes furniture. That would look perfect to show off someone’s collection of stuff.

Man, that’s adorable. Sand it down and refinish it, put in some plant lights, it’ll be so cute.

If I would see that in a thrift shop I would buy it instantly. This is so beautiful and in good conditions, been looking for something like that to restore and it’s harder than one could imagine

      Don’t dump it!

At the very least take it to a furniture consignment shop. Someone out there would love that thing.

Oh if I saw that on the curb, I’d snatch that right up!!!!

    18. People have no taste anymore. I posted my solid cherry entertainment center and tons of comments saying how it’s outdated and ugly. This piece is beautiful, perhaps a new paint color for the inside

Good news for me, I’ve filled my house with gorgeous ornate solid wood furniture that will last forever. People practically give away these types of pieces

      Reject modernity

what do you MEAN take it to the DUMP!? that is the most gorgeous case ive ever seen!

    20. Please don’t take this to the dump, lots of people would love to have it

I’m into repurposing furniture, and I’m gonna tell you that if I saw this on marketplace as is for $100-150, I’d feel like I was getting a deal. If you can’t figure out a way to like it, you can likely sell it for a decent amount.

I’ve always wanted to take out glass, replace with screens and install a lovely cockatiel

If you don’t want it you might be able to get some money for it. Some people love to collect that French provincial furniture and I could be wrong but it looks like that style.

    24. Candykeeper on

Dont you dare take that to the dump! Would be classed as a crime against humanity imho!

    25. That curio is beautiful. Do not throw it out or convert it. Give it to someone who will love it.

Taking it to the dump would be crazy. If push came to shove, I’d sell or donate it to an antique store.

    27. Captains1955 on

Hideous?? That’s perfect for a little girls room & her dolls.

[Looking down at LVP flooring]… Of course OP thinks this is hideous 🙄
