I preferred the layout before. Having the trellis fencing and archway to block part of the garden and hide unsightly sheds etc is nice. Chance for climbers to grow as well, add some height and interest.

However if that is where the sun is when you can chill out, I understand the need to open it up.

Front garden looks nicer. Is that narrow strip a pavement?

What’s up with putting the border plants in raised beds. Is this a new build thing?

That looks great. If I was your neighbour, I’d be furious because your front garden looks so much better than everybody else’s 😆

Well done, it looks amazing! The front garden is so cute!

Great work!! I have a Victorian terrace that’s currently absolutely lifeless and similar sized to yours.

Can you share info about what you planted and why? Are you planning to keep the tree in a pot long term?

Lovely job, lots of miserable people on here. You’re going to enjoy that for years

Very skilled work! You must be chuffed. It’s going to be fun to watch over the next couple of years, too, as everything establishes.

This is beautiful work and you should be proud of yourselves. People who make street frontages really nice with their front gardens should get council tax reductions!

    9. Great work! All the different colour foliage will look lovely grown in together. And as the lawn is mini, I suppose it’s easier to keep it vibrant and neat. Enjoy

    10. Will having the planters up against the wall that high up cause issues with water breaching the damp proof course, resulting in damp issues in your house and whatever building is to the left of your garden? I can’t see the height of your DPC in the photos though, if it’s above or below the air bricks. Otherwise it looks great.

    11. The important question what’s in the secret corner between the fence and the building on the left?

    12. Did you consider painting the wooden sleepers? For either protection or aesthetics?

I’m guessing they’re already treated, but I want something similar in my garden. My plans were to paint them the same colour as the fence.

The whole thing should mature nicely over the next 12 months. Good job.

Sleepers look great. Inspiration for my ongoing garden renovation!

    14. Are you able to share more details on how you installed the sleepers that act as a retaining wall? I’m planning on doing the same this summer and looking for all the tips I can get!

Looks great now, especially the front.

RIP shed though.. where to you store your garden tools and mower?
