They’re just little pollen beetles/thunder bugs. They don’t cause any damage or bute and are a vital part of the eco system. Attract birds to your garden and they’ll eat some but you won’t be able to get rid of them, they’re a part of nature.
Honestly, just let them be. If they were in your house that’s one thing, but come on, we can’t sanitise our gardens from the living world, in fact we should be promoting wildlife in all forms where we can. Rant over
Why do you want to get rid of them?
Is the beetle on your hand definitely from one of those swarms? I feel like the photos are of two different insects, hard to tell but the swarm just looks like gnats.
Either way they won’t hang around forever they’re just excited it’s Spring and warmer, like the rest of us. Pollen beetles like the one on your hand are good pollinators and don’t do any damage, and are just part of garden life. They’re particularly drawn to yellow things, so keeping those off your windowsills can help reduce them coming in.
Have you tried asking them really nicely to leave?
I’d be very surprised if you’ve got pollen beetles (first photo) or gnats (second photo) in the house. I’ll bet it’s drosophila, aka fruit flies (or “fag ash flies”, as my MIL used to call them)
They’re a bugger, probably nesting somewhere inside. Check bins, especially between the bin liner and the outer bin, and any indoor plants you have.
(Edit: just read that they’re swarming you when you sit outside, so probably not drosophila infestation in the house)
