Doesn’t look too bad to me. It will recover. This is the reality of buying plants online as opposed to going to a garden centre.
Got some terrible plants form them last year and got a partial refund. Be warned the ones I managed to rescue came with weeds intertwined round the roots, they need a careful pick over before planting out.
80% of everything or ordered last year – Suttons, Dobies, others all arrived half dead and didn’t survive. I’ve just had to accept that online doesn’t work for us. Don’t know why.
Is that a ‘soft caress’? I feel your pain, struggled to find one last year too. My dog has now wee’d all over it and it’s barely alive but thats another story. As others have said it’s unfortunately the reality of buying online.
That’s a shame, I nearly bought quite a few of these from them.
Send some pics and explain you aren’t happy with it, they may offer a partial refund.
Plant should be fine though, it’ll recover no problem with some tlc.

You’ll never get a refund from there.
I spend loads of money on plants from there 2 years ago. None of them lived. I requested a refund multiple times and didn’t get a reply. I wish I’d checked reviews first. Their fb page deletes all their comments or turns off comments because they are so bad.
Marshalls without hesitation worth some praise.

Have not bought their bushes or flowers, but don’t see they would be different?
Yeh I’ve had bad experiences with gardening express too, sent a bunch of dead or nearly dead plants and refused refund unless I paid to send back the husks
Urmm, that is not a Mahonia? That looks like a parlour palm have a look here [RHS mahonia page](https://www.rhs.org.uk/plants/mahonia) whereas this is a [Kentia or parlour palm](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chamaedorea_elegans)
Looks absolutely fine. You’re not buying a perfect artificial plant. Just cut off the bad stuff. I’ve also bought a load from Gardening Express, yes it’s cheaper but never had an issue really.
Mahonias are beasts. I have a few, planted in the most inhospitable locations in my garden, some in heavy clay which cracks in summer, some in the windy front garden that gets no direct sun whatsoever, and they thrive better than any other plants I own.
Pop it in the ground, give it a soak of liquid seaweed and water, and watch it outperform everything else you own. It’ll be fine.
