Paper dissolves in water eventually. So I’d just put it in some water and let it sit until it’s pulp.
Or, plant it as is. It’ll decompose with time 🙂

As long as it doesn’t get moldy it’ll be fine. I’ve made the same mistake before. Doesn’t take long for it to just kind of bond to the plant as the plant grows through it.
