    1. The placement in the room and the order at the bottom are opposite one another 😑

putting ficus in the medium light category is a crime. 😭

generally this kind of “infographic” isnt very helpful, because all of these plants need light to survive and anything that is placed into low or medium light conditions will not grow optimally and be more prone to rot.

yes, some of these plants are more tolerant to low light, but they will still grow better with more light. the picture kind of makes it seem like some plants “like” low light, which is super misleading.

Some succulents will easily burn their leaves on the bright direct light

This isn’t terrible advice but agreed with others misleading and not precise. My philodendron’s are in direct bright western light. Not southern, but they get at least half day of bright summer sun and they love it.

My monstera thrives in direct sunlight, it’s right on the windowsill.

    6. why are those plants fully in the corner way out of any light? i dont agree with this infographic at all lol

    7. In most houses, the brightest window is considered bright indirect light. It’s nearly impossible to achieve anything close to direct sun/full sun indoors. You always have to acclimate plants when you move them from a poorly lit area to a well-lit area of your home, but they’ll be happier in the long run.

Also, the sun’s elevation changes with the seasons. From autumn until spring, south facing windows are gold. The sun stays low in the sky and beams into those windows all day long. Starting in the spring, however, the sun is higher in the sky and barely grazes south facing windows. East and west windows get the best light (at sunrise and sunset, respectively) until autumn rolls back around. It’s something to keep in mind.

Can we stop with this “bright indirect light shit”🤦‍♀️ most houseplants would thrive in direct sun if properly introduced. Obviously, maybe not so much in very hot climates, but in temperate climates its fine. People forget that plants come from outside…
