I‘m the same. First we explored the world together, then they join me in the garden until their days are numbered. But my boots don’t get a funeral. Instead they become part of my garden. They are filled with soil and are now home to some of my favourite little perennials.

Oh, the comfort of a good ol’ pair of gardening boots, eh.
So hard to find a new pair to ‘fill their shoes ‘ (pardon the pun)

I started the hunt for a new pair, you know, gotta be comfortable, gotta be tough, gotta last forever like the last pair, but this time I wanted slip-on boots and lo and behold I was mooching around an antiques shop, of all places and there was a pair of black boots, real leather upper, zips up both sides of each boot and soles, thicker than doorstep sandwiches.

5, yes, only 5 of your finest sterling pounds, for the pair, and they fit like a glove. Happy gardening all……..(ツ)
