I’m going to let it callus from my cut overnight, but I want to set it up for success and prevent it from rotting.

  2. Strait into well draining soil. Remove the flowerbuds, those green sigars and the lowest two leaves for better results. The flowers should be removed ASAP. The leaves will be less bad but it is best practice to remove.

Just go straight into soil. Worst case it dies, but if it survived being dumped she will probably be ok.

  4. Watch out for pests and critters on tossed plants and freebies! Looks nice tho! I would quarantine it and hit it with the spidermite spray made with mint soap, alcohol, peroxide and water. Check youtube “spider mite spray” for the ratios and recipe.

I would put it in water and let it grow some roots before placing it in soil. If you plant it and it looks sad after a week, place it in water.

I would put it in water and prop it first but, soil is just as good. It’s a matter of opinion. I received a couple cuttings from a 50+ year old delciosa and the leafs were bigger than my entire head. It was rooted in water but I put it in soil and it’s starting to fenestrate more now. But, I have lecca rocks in clear containers and props from another monstera inside of the container and I just water it so you can watch the roots grow and it’s a different way of planting something so there’s all different ways you can start something off it’s just a matter of opinion and the way that you want to do it happy planting

Every monstera I see dumped or abandoned is because they have pests on them . I suggest isolating and conducting a really good inspection before doing anything first
