      Have a look at some of your plants to see if little round cuts have been taken out of them as the bees would have got them from nearby

      Hoverflies in the back garden have made a nest like those in the openings of a tubular chair I sit on.

      oh wow what a success! as others have said – leaftcutter bees. You might see one flying around with a piece of a leaf if you’re lucky!

      You’ll hear the bees cutting the leaves too if you’re lucky. We have them in our garden and they use the same kind of thing.

      Leaf cutter bees as others have said. Mine cut fuscia, wisteria and peony leaves 😊

      We had a great spotted woodpecker snack on ours. ☹️I recommend mesh on front to prevent this..

      I’ve got the exact same one and it became shelob’s lair. Never seen anything come back out

      i was going to suggest leaf cutters too. absolutely fantastic. this is exactly what bee hotels were designed for. we need more solo bees.
