I hope you were being dramatic about your husbands “complaining,” because our partners should be supporting our hobbies and learning about them to make us happy. I’ve see a few posts from nonplant spouses trying to buy a unicorn as a surprise and asking for advice. That should be the standard. If he has absolutely zero interest, then at least tolerate your hobby, and keep his mouth shut. If you’re serious about him complaining, houseplants are seriously not even close to the worst hobby a spouse could have.
