    RIESIGER Philodendron

    Hallo Leute,

    tldr; Ich möchte einen riesigen Philodendron züchten! Wie?

    Auf dem ersten Bild sehen Sie also einen Philodendron verrucosum mit wunderschönen großen Blättern, über den ich oben in einem Subreddit gestolpert bin.

    Auf dem zweiten Bild ist mein Philodendron Erubescens Red Emerald zu sehen. Es ist jetzt etwa zwei Jahre alt und ziemlich lang geworden. Ich meine, die Stange ist zwei Meter hoch, sie fällt bereits herunter UND wächst wieder nach oben. Ich gehe also von etwa 3-4 Metern Länge aus.

    Ich möchte es abschneiden, vermehren und an Familie, Freunde usw. verschenken, da ich keinen langen Philo mehr mit kleinen Blättern möchte. Ich möchte wirklich, dass es wenige, aber wirklich große Blätter hat.

    Wie könnte ich das erreichen?

    Nun, ich muss ihm Wachstumslichter geben, da die superhellen Spots bereits von mehreren Monsteras und Alocasias in meinem Haus genutzt werden. Aber was brauche ich noch? Hat jemand Ideen, die er oder sie mit mir teilen möchte?

    Ich bin für jeden Rat dankbar 🙂

      Lots of light and something to climb on 🙂 their supports not only support their weight but their growth as well

      A moss pole and a lot of light! Also that first pic isn’t a verrucosum, it’s a melanochrysum

      More light and restart it with a true moss pole that it can root into, also watch Sydney Plant Guy on YouTube

      Depending on where you’re at and the conditions you are able to provide….don’t pick the Melano. The one in the photo you shared is a bit of a unicorn. The Glorious or the Splendid or even the Verrucosum or way less fussy and are good at sizing up quickly with the right conditions.

      other things being equal, it all comes down to light. the quality and quantity (ppfd). as long as the light is right, the leaves can’t NOT get to max size. i’ve a majestic, melano, soderoi, verru, gigas, some epipremnums and pothos, monsteras-ALL are continually upsizing-the bebbes and the not so bebbes. and it’s all about the light. and having a support they can also root into and drink from at height:
