Typical care for plants at supermarkets. Some bargains to be had occasionally!
Brilliant! Cheers for the tip!
Dahlia tubers and budget roses can’t be far behind!
In case this is helpful to anyone the Apple varieties I saw available were Discovery, Cox’s Orange Pippin, Golden Delicious and Jonagold.
B&M had the same varieties at the same price, minus Discovery.
To be fair, I got a plum and apple tree on this deal about a decade ago and got probably 40lbs of plums off last year and had to give away Discovery apples because I was inundated. For the money they’re worth it, especially because you’ll prune and shape them anyway.
The B&M golden delicious are delicious
Can they just go straight in the ground now?
Picked up a couple yesterday. Incredible deal. Apple tress that size are £60 a pop in my local garden centre
I went last night and someone was loading up their trolley. They look like decent sized trees.
Just be warned that some are not self fertile!
I know in particular that some apple trees need other varieties to pollinate….
I found this out after the fact from last years deal – but that’s ok – I just had to buy more apple trees and a lovely crab apple!! 🥰
I bought one of each last year. Was hoping for some additional varieties this year but I guess can’t have high hopes at that price!
B&M have the same thing on atm.
I got a Stella cherry from Tesco last February and planted it in a community centre garden and back in March 2023, got the two for £12 offer on Victoria plum trees, stealth planted them in a park and they haven’t produced any fruit yet, but appear to be healthy otherwise as of this year.
I had two of these at the old house (a cherry and a pear from Tesco’s) and they cropped really, really well, surprisingly good.
these are actually decent for the price if you get a healthy one. bare root stuff from tesco has been hit or miss for me but when they take off yey really take off. just checj roots before planting and youre good
