Meine Freundin hat mir einen Ableger ihrer Büropflanze geschenkt. Ich habe den größten Teil der Braun-/Schwarzfäule abgeschnitten. Aber es sieht immer noch nicht toll aus. Soll ich aufgeben?

Advice from a novice: You have a node. Maybe keep the water shallower or prop in a vial-shaped thing where it can be suspended in water without too much exposure to the stem and leaf

I’ve seen simple node cuttings of stems become beautiful potted plants. It’s possible, but it also takes attention

As long as you treat it right, ( per first comment) I’d say you have a 99% chance.

  3. It might. But getting a new leaf will take very long to almost impossible. Roots are almost a guarantee.

    The node is spent.

This isn’t a top cut. There is no active growth point. The plant would need to grow roots, survive, and eventually grow a new spike from the leaf.

You can speed this up by removing the leaf once the root systems are dense enough.

I’m thinking a bit of a spritz of hydrogen peroxide will help to alleviate some of the bacteria/fungus that causes rot and give it a better chance. But I believe you’ve got a good chance of survival and nothing to loose by trying!

I agree with the care tips of the other commenters, keep the stem out of water, change water frequently…more oxygen = better growth. Fresh water adds fresh oxygen, and rids of pathogenic growth.
