Womit werdet ihr über bevorstehenden Frost benachrichtigt? Ich kann keine Wetter-Apps finden, die eine Benachrichtigung geben. Jede Hilfe wäre großartig. Nicht mein Bild, es ist von Google.

It’s so annoying but having looked for an app that does this for many years, many times, myself. I’m pretty sure there isn’t one. If you find one I will be over the moon.

Clear night + anything under 4 degrees C = potential for frost.

Windy – will give you up to a week’s notice if the ECWMF forecast suggests frost. Not perfect, but pretty damn good in SE England in my experience.

I ask the gaffers at my allotment for their predictions.

There *used* to be a perfect tool for this- the Met Office offered a station-by-station forecast that did a better job than synoptic, national forecasts if you were anywhere close to a weather station. Last year I finally got round to wrapping a really simple bit of script around the API for it, so I would automatically get a text if there was a forecast for <2deg in the next three days.
Theeeeeeeen…
In their infinite wisdom, this year Met Office have stopped doing it. So stupid.
Edit to add: Met Office forecasts are still almost certainly better than any other product. They are sat on 150 years of national weather data, so their prediction models are almost certainly the best for UK conditions.

I have switchbot thermometers in the garden that alert me to low temps 🤷♀️

Blind luck this week, as it turns out. I had a day off work Tuesday so threw some fleece around my plants, then Wednesday I woke up to snow.

I look out the window. Are people getting too lazy to look outside and need phones to tell them everything now?

I use Windows. I swipe curtains left and right, and use my eyes. Then if the car is iced up I use swear words.

Nasturtium is how I tell if frost has visited, one day they’ll be perfect lush and flowering and then in the morning they’ll be limp soggy and translucent looking as anything below 0c just destroys their cells.

My beloved always gets up before me and lets the dogs out so I get “There’s been a frost” if there’s been a frost. I also get “It’s raining” or “It’s been raining” or “It’s snowed” etc. I was looking at getting one of those posh weather stations for Christmas but to be honest, my missis is pretty accurate and costs less to run. 🙂

What do you mean no weather apps tell you? Of course they do. Anything around or below 4 degrees, then expect frost.

I use WXcharts and check the 850hpa charts and min 2m temperature charts.
